What is Nordstrom and How Can I Shop There?

 

Perhaps you have not heard of Nordstrom because there is not a department store near you. I am familiar with Nordstrom, because I grew up across the Puget Sound from Seattle. Nordstrom is one of the many upscale stores (as well as budget stores) that we would visit on our shopping trip in Seattle.

When shopping on a budget an upscale store should not be overlooked, because there are bargains throughout the store. We often bought clothing and shoes at Nordstrom. The saying "You get what you paid for" is so true when it comes to quality. Unlike some of the cheaper brands, the apparel at Nordstrom held its value longer.

Now that I no longer live in Washington State, I would have to travel out of state to find a Nordstrom store. With Nordstrom online website, I do not have to travel any further than keyboard and a mouse click.

Nordstrom is the third largest retail store and has been around since 1901, though it started out as a shoe retail store by John W. Nordstrom and Carl F. Wallin. When they both John and Carl retired in 1928 and 1929, Nordstrom gave his shares to his two sons and Carl sold his to John's sons. Later a third Nordstrom son joined the partnership.
