Tiptoe Through the Tulips

Saturday I spent the springy afternoon at Centennial Park, in Nashville, TN.  My main purpose was to visit the tulip garden, but I took my time, roaming.

The first thing you spot at Centennial Park is the Parthenon, a full-scale replica.  Inside is a museum.

I wandered around the columns for a bit...

...and then noticed some kites flying around outside.

On my way to the tulips, I stumbled upon this vibrant tree....

definitely one of my favorites.

And then I tiptoed through the tulips for awhile....

Then the prom kids came out...

But I continued along...

And then, this tree helped me find where I had parked.  I loved its character.

Thank you for sharing the glories of Spring! Right now its 33 degrees, a chill wind is coming in from Montana, and it's snowing! Springtime in the Rockies, to be sure, but I really NEEDED to see some tulips! And flowering trees. And beautiful young girls in pretty dresses! Reminds me of Holland Michigan our little tulip haven.

As many times as we've been to Nashville, I've never been to this park. We will definitely have to look it up the next trip. These are some very nice photos, Nichole. Have you ever done one of The Hermitage? I'll be on the look out for more of your pictures.

The Parthenon! I never knew there was a replica, how cool....wonderful tulips...my grandma was Dutch...tulips are a fave in our family. The prom girls look like they are wearing tulip skirts! Very fun to view this photo essay. We have Tulip Country in the Skagit Valley in Washington...but I haven't been over there in a few years. Thanks for sharing your photos!
