It was makeover week and although I missed the first fifteen minutes of the show it didn’t appear that the producers scalped any of the contestants in the name of fashion. Except for a few exceptions I think they mainly just enhanced the hair the models came to the house with which I think is a good thing. More on the details later.Â
Â
Their photo challenge this week was to model with another girl in haute couture. My only complaint about this assignment is that the last group of girls consisted of three in the shot…wait, okay, I’m bad, they would have had an even number of girls but one quit last week and another was eliminated.Â
Â
Poor Molly, she was the one who got the busted up weave referred to in the title of this article. Since I didn’t see the initial stages of the makeovers I can’t testify if there were any dramatics but I felt for Molly trying her best to struggle with a bad hair don’t. For one thing she hair is fine which I imagine isn’t the best for hair weaving. Apparently, a stylist from outside of the salon was called in to do her hair and the poor woman was having a hard time. Later Molly complained that her head hurt, her butt hurt, and that there was a demarcation line between her real hair and the weave…unbeweaveable. However she soldiered on and with Kasia produced one of the judges’ favorite
photos.  Â

It might just be me, but does Monique’s makeover shot look like she is bordering on being a plus size model? She came off a tad better this week personality speaking, especially now that she seems to have identified Alexandria as the ultimate mean girl of the group – and you know what happens to mean girls when their second in command turn on them. On last dig Monique’s way, does she have a case of ceiling eyes? I look at her couture photo (with Alexandria no less) and I have to wonder.   I suppose time will answer all of these questions.

Sara’s makeover was nothing to write home about – I think they cut her hair even shorter which she realized is not an asset. I don’t think she will be around for long because her spirit seems not into it.  She was in the bottom two during judges panel but was the one who stayed. On an unrelated note, I must say that I do have some issues with the photography of the couture collection. There seems to be a lot of sun spots which I don’t think does the girls or the clothes much service. I don't know if you can see it, it is a sun spot under Sara's chin.

Britanni had the biggest makeover in my opinion. Tyra choose a Louise Brooks haircut for her and it really set her apart from the rest of the girls in a good way. I thought the outfit she wore in her shoot with Hannah was adorable and I think their photo was the best. I think this is the first time I have seen one of the girls get her hair cut (not majorly BTW) that I thought it was an improvement.Â

As I said above, I thought Hannah’s and Britanni’s photo was the best. I didn’t seem much of a difference in Hannah’s makeover.Â

Dominique totally came derailed this week. I thought the red hair helped, but I thought she needed bangs to really help her face pop. I like freckles, I like her freckles, but I think without bangs you look at her face and only see freckles. I think the hairstyle that Tyra is currently sporting would look brilliant on Dominique because it would make her eyes pop…however that isn’t going to be the case this cycle because she was tasked with returning to the house and packing up her bags. I don’t think it helped her to be part of the group with three girls and especially didn’t help when she told Jay she wasn’t thinking about anything during the photo shoot. Thinking about n
othing seemed to set Jay off because as you know usually models are thinking about advanced quantum physics when they are posing.Â

Alexandria is just a horrible person. Not only is she the bitch of Cycle 16 but she is also the whiner who over dramatized her head hurting as the stylist brushed her hair for the shoot. The judges see a lot more in her pictures than I do. She won best photo for some inexplicable reason, but not all is lost because the stylist and photography were vocal about her behavior what a drag she was to work with. Here’s how retched she is, she is this season’s girl who is happy that she intimidates some of the others in the house although she is clueless that now the rest of them don’t want anything to do with her. I swear if she utters that she is there to win and not to make friends she is going to cliché prison. Once again I don’t get what the judges see in her; I don’t even think she would make a very good Sear’s catalogue model…oh yes, I went there.Â
Â
Jaclyn had a good week. I thought she looked very beautiful in her puffy dress. I think her photo was near the top.Â

Dalya is stepping her game up a bit. Jay said at one point that if he could have cropped just Jaclyn and she together without Dominique it would have been a great picture. Her makeover inspiration was Pocahontas.

Kasia’s picture was a source of debate amongst the judges. Personally I don’t think she photographs well. Her face comes off heavier looking than the rest of her body and yes, I know she is a plus size model, but I imagine her body is probably average size while her face is not.Â

Mikaela’s and Sara’s couture photo was my least favorite. Apparently Mikaela had issues keeping her eyes open to the lens.Â

For makeover week there really wasn’t that much to blog about. Next week promises to be better because there is a chance that during the runway show that the producers have probably set up somewhere near a nuclear waste site (remember when they had the show in a traffic tunnel?) the girls might be burned alive if they teeter ever so slightly on their ten inch heels.
