- Boulder, Colorado
- Holland and Grand Haven, Michigan
- Honolulu, Hawaii
- Provo and Orem, Utah
- Santa Rosa and Petaluma, California
The Well-Being Index is the largest behavioral economic database ever created and measures Americans’ physical, emotional and financial well being in real time. Since 2008, Gallup and Healthways have been taking a snapshot of America’s well being.
The cities reporting poor Well-Being Index? They are:
- Flint, Michigan
- Charleston, West Virginia
- Modesto, California
- Johnstown, Pennsylvania
- Lake Havasu City and Kingman, Arizona
While unemployment likely plays a significant role in how residents in these cities feel, other factors, such as access to health care, location, and public resources also play a role.
