With a wide variety of rings, pendants, "pin-dents"(pendant that switch into pins) and cuatom designs, Dispagna pushes the design envelope far beyond what you might think you would ever have found. Inspired by nature, personal experiences as well as  his distinctive imagination, Dispagna has several collections of jewelry but fundamentally they are generally based in silver (fine, sterling and regular silver) and many pieces are in a design category that Dispagna has labled "wraps" .

These unique pieces are never the same thing twice and feature an array of precious and semi-precious stones that range from $50 to about $750 (or more) depending on the type of stones and wire. Each piece is a limited edition and often are one of a kind- though he can create similar pieces, they are never the same exact design twice.  Â

The simple wraps ($50) currently on site (but might not be by the time you see this) are an introduction to the thoughtful yet wildly abstract jewelry of Mathew DiSpagna.

Mathew DiSpagna became captivated by minerals and crystals through his mother who was interested in the healing properties of crystals. He began collecting crystals and minerals and discovered cold fusion jewelry, an ancient method of creating jewelry that can be used today to create amazingly creative pieces.

Â
In late 2004, he started working with this cold fusion technique-- entirely self taught -- and it became his passion . By 2008, DiSpagna was at MASSART, learning the finer points of jewelry design under the auspices of "the bad boy of contemporary jewelry design," Dan Jocz. During that period other collections evolved: Disepshun and Assassin  The  Disepshun Collection features faceted stones instead of crystals and raw semi-precious stones.

The most interesting part of Mathew Dispagna's jewelry designs is that he continues to evolve and move in different directions. His "rage" for jewelry making is akin to a fever and it encompassess his mind and his life.

If you are interested in buying a one-of-a-kind  or having something insanely gorgeous  where you pick out the gems and color of the metal and then leave it all to him with an idea of what you want, you will get something absolutely stunning.
