We think the growingly popular Dukan Diet is the perfect beauty breakthrough simply because it allows you to eat pretty much whatever you want. (That is the kind of breakthrough I can use)
The Dukan Diet was developed by a French doctor, but has really taken off in the UK. Celebs including Jennifer Lopez and Gisele Bundchen are among those said to use the Dukan Diet to lose weight. Here’s the skinny in this diet:
There’s no calorie counting or food weighting, just a strict schedule. You start by eating only protein (meat, fish, non-fat dairy) for one-to-ten days; depending on how much weight you want to lose. Then you start alternating between an unlimited protein and an unlimited salad and veggie day. Dieters stick to this portion while you lose weight. They say weight lose should be fast.
When you are at your target weight you can re-introduce fruit, starch, cheese, and one party meal (anything goes meal) each week until you have added all of your regular food back into your diet.
From there on it’s smooth sailing and you can eat whatever, whenever. There is one rule. You can only ever have protein and low fat dairy products on Thursday.
Why Thursday? We don’t know. But you can only have meat and milk one day a week. We aren’t sure if this is actually healthy (the food guide says you need protein and milk every day), so we suggest you check with a doctor first. If it works though, we are in.
