Hardwood floors look more elegant/cleaner longer...
It's funny how trends change. For so many years, wall-to-wall carpet was considered elegant. Bare wood floors were for those who couldn't afford carpet. Now those floors are considered elegant? Go figure.

We sold the house three years ago. The hardwood did not bring a higher price, but probably helped sell the house faster.
