If you're a fan of fashion, you'll love The September Issue. The September Issue is a 2008 documentary from A&E Indie Films and LionsGate film studio that chronicles the behind the scenes work that goes into the making of American Vogue's September Issue.
September is a very important month in the fashion world because it encompasses all of the new designs and collections from Fashion Week in New York and abroad.
The September Issue is directed by R.J. Cutler and most of its material comes courtesy of Anna Wintour, the magazine's editor and creative director Grace Coddington as they travel to photo shoots, fashion shows and everything else that's necessary in putting together the September Issue of Vogue, a magazine that's known in The U.S. and abroad as "the fashion Bible."
Coddington and Wintour are very dedicated to their jobs and make Meryl Streep's character in The Devil Wears Prada look like a teddy bear. As much fun as fashion can be, this documentary serves as yet another reminder that it is a multi-million dollar industry and a serious one at that.
The September Issue also features appearances by many influential figures in the fashion industry including editor-at-large Andre-Leon-Talley (America's Next Top Model), designer Vera Wang, and actress Sienna Miller.
You read Vogue? You think you know Vogue? You don't. At least not until you've seen The September Issue.
