Mel Gibson, an actor, film director, producer and screenwriter as well as Academy Award winner for directing and starring in Braveheart is now the object of direct scrutiny due to released audio tapes of him verbally abusing his former girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva. Oksana Grigorieva gave birth to Mel Gibson’s youngest daughter, Lucia on October 30, 2009, but in April 2010 the couple split and Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has since launched a domestic violence investigation against Gibson.
This is not the first time Mel Gibson has been accused of verbal slander or racist type remarks. There have been allegations against Mel Gibson for homophobia, anti-semitism in his film The Passion of the Christ, a DUI case involving anti-Semitic comments, alcohol abuse, racism, and sexism and domestic violence. Mel Gibson apparently has a track record for letting comments slip from his mouth, which are racist, sexist or just downright abusive to others.
In Mel Gibson’s film, What Women Want, he plays a chauvinist Chicago ad executive, who has no clue of “what women want.†Mel Gibson can now relate to the film very well; as a result of the release of the audio tape where he verbally abuses Oksana with condescending language and racist words, it is clear that Mel Gibson truly has no idea what women want or how to treat them. Below is an audio/ video feed of the tape of Mel Gibson abusing his former girlfriend, uploaded from YouTube.

Mel Gibson’s perceived image by the media and fans going forward will be dependent on the investigation against him involving domestic abuse and Oksana.
