The latest new series on ABC entitled Bachelor Pad will premiere Monday August 9, 2010 at 8 PM ET on ABC and will feature the most favorite and most loathed of Bachelors and Bachelorettes from previous seasons. The concept of the new show is that Bachelors and Bachelorettes will compete not only for love, as on previous seasons of the popular match-up reality television show, but rather compete to win money. Will money come before love? Check out the video below to see an exclusive preview of the new season of the Bachelor Pad.
We can safely assume based on the video that most contestants on the show Bachelor Pad are fully invested in the show for both fame and fortune. They are competing for $250,000. Previous seasons of the Bachelor and Bachelorette have ousted many contestants for being “on the show for he wrong reasons.” Now, with the new concept of the Bachelor Pad awarding contestants who win with money as well as giving them time on national television to gain recognition, it seems like this show gives contestants what they really wanted to begin with, not a relationship but rather money and stardom. After all, who would pick love on a show with a history of 99.9% failed relationships?
Is love realistic for contestants on Bachelor Pad? Possibly yes. Producers will no longer be drumming up drama on a dating show that solely follows the storyline of a contestant dating multiple suitors and narrowing down choices each week to the final week. Instead, the drama will ensue as contestants compete for money and make each other angry as competitions require them to work together to use their physical abilities and their. . . brains. Maybe a few contestants will fall in love through cooperative teamwork, by eliminating other contestants, or when bonding through their mutual experiences on the show. Should make for interesting reality television! Will you be watching the show to see who wins the competitions and the money? Or for the love and drama?
