Lindsay Lohan has been sentenced to jail as of July 6, 2010 and will report to the courthouse at 8:30 a.m. on July 20, 2010 to begin serving a total of 90 days in jail at the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood for violating her probation. Sentenced to jail by Judge Marsha Revel, Lindsay Lohan obviously did not expect such "severe" punishment by the court for violation of the terms of her 2007 DUI and drug case when she failed to attend court mandated weekly alcohol education classes and submit to random drug tests. Lohan has shown little respect for the court, and her actions have finally caught up to her, according to E! Online.

Lohan knew that if she chose not to attend her weekly alcohol education and random drug testing that the prosecutor would seek jail time. She will now serve a total of 90 days in jail: 30 days for each original infractions, including 2 DUIs and 1 count of reckless driving. Is it really a shock that after three infractions Lohan could not get her act together to attend weekly classes and drug testing? Three strikes you’re out in baseball; maybe she should have gotten a direct pass to jail after the first three infractions. After obtaining some leeway from the court and being directed to attend alcohol education and stay clean of substances, did Lohan also think she would skip jail time if in violation of court orders going forward? She should have asked pal, Paris Hilton, for advice on ways to avoid jail time… never mind, that advice didn’t work out so well for Paris either did it? The real question now is: what will Lindsay's celebrity wardrobe be like in jail? Not.
Recently, Lindsay Lohan announced plans to advertise her new line of purses through posing nude, despite having to wear a SCRAM bracelet 24/7. Photographers planned to edit the photos to remove the bracelet or monitor the shoot with police enforcement to allow Lohan to model without wearing her bracelet. Maybe photographers can now do an in-home photo shoot in jail?
Lohan also messed up her family’s plans to star in a reality television show to communicate the normalcy of their family and that they do not have the problems that the media continues to cover in magazines. Lindsay Lohan’s jail time will give them the opportunity to do a special: “Our Daughter the Celebrity in Jail: No, She’s Not Acting!†or “Lindsay’s Reality: Jail Time.â€

What should Lohan do to change her life and move forward in the right direction? After completing jail time, the court ordered that she complete an additional 90 day inpatient substance abuse program. Although a step in the right direction, it will probably take more than a total 180 days to correct a lifetime of bad career choices and change Lohan’s habits to making adult decisions to lead her life in an appropriate manner.
