Kristen Stewart seems to have perfected a look that says, “something is slightly off about what I am wearing.†And that is not necessarily a bad thing. Amidst her red carpet persona of perfect skin and leg-baring dresses, there is always an element or two that shows off her individuality, a kind of stubborn streak that seems to say, “I’ll do the red carpet and play celebrity, but I’m not completely convinced.†Whether you’re a Kstew fan or not, you’ve got to admire that.
Take Kristen’s outfit at the Eclipse premiere. It was short and white. Instead of doing asymmetrical the way other stars have been doing it, she opted for a textured frock that looked like one sleeve was cut off… by accident. And yet, it worked. She set herself apart from the strapless/ shiny/ sheer route her peers took.
How about Kristen’s stop at Berlin for an Eclipse event? She gave us a snug Versace dress, short as usual. But instead of going all-out sexy with stilettos, she kept her look grounded and unexpected with a pair of open-toe ankle boots.
So goes Kristen’s slightly off fashion choices. She will wear ruffles but it will be dark and have sheer layers. She’ll do the sweetheart neckline but she’ll keep her hair mussed. She’ll wear bright yellow but wait, there’s more. Look at her back, there’s a quirky, origami-like fold that you didn’t see coming.
