R&B singer Alicia Keys is confirmed pregnant and engaged to rapper, DJ and producer Swizz Beatz. Although her music reflects a romantic and strong feminine image, the couples relationship started off a scandoulous affair, resulting in Swizz Beatz's divorce with ex-wife Mashonda Tifrere. In Alicia Keys newest song, Unthinable(I'm Ready) the lyrics could symoblize the then, forbidden relationship and the shame in bringing it out in the open now. Even the video symbolizes something that is still unfortunately, seen as shameful. Two young adults with different colors and backgrounds fall in love and are looked down upon because of their difference in appearance. The lyrics are appealing and the video is seductive and urges us to find the rebel in us for the sake of love. It all sounds great comming from Alicia's point of view, but ladies, ask yourselfs; could you ever be the other woman? Most WOMEN would say no, we all have been in Mashonda's situation and know that it is no joke to go through a divorce or even a break-up. Under what circumstances is it ok to completely ignore morals for the sake of love? But please lets not blame this all on Alcia Keys.. it takes two.Â
